HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Two dogs were found abandoned in Bates Wood Park after being dumped from a vehicle, with one dog later dying from injuries and the other requiring extensive medical treatment.
A shelter camera at New London Animal Control recorded the dogs being thrown from a car, according to Animal Control Officer Tonya Kloiber.
“He just saw a small white object being thrown from the car,” she said. “Unfortunately there’s nothing definitive on the video to see the car. Our best hope is someone sees these dogs, recognizes them, and does the right thing.”
The dogs, named Eeyore and Piglet, were found matted and in poor health. Both had to be sedated and shaved due to their condition.
Piglet was struck by a car after being abandoned. Kloiber found her during the rescue.
