WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - The Waterbury Health Department will distribute free winter clothing and essential items to families in need this Saturday after collecting donations for weeks across the city.
The distribution event will take place in the parking lot of the Waterbury Health Department on South Main Street starting at 10 a.m., while supplies last.
“You never know what someone’s going through, and just knowing that we can provide this one little, I guess, glimmer of hope,” said Briana DeCosta of the Waterbury Health Department.
The health department has collected more than 100 coats for both children and adults, along with hundreds of hats, scarves and hand warmers.
“We have over 100 coats, way over 100 hats, scarves, hand warmers,” DeCosta said.
