NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - State Police are investigating a multi-car crash on I-91 northbound near Exit 8 in New Haven, where a driver fled the scene on foot Friday evening.

Troopers responded to the crash in the area of Exit 8 at around 5:19 p.m. State police say a driver fled the scene on foot, though no description is available at this time.

No injuries have been reported.

The CT Department of Transportation says I-91 northbound is congested between exits 2 and 8, a 1.8-mile stretch, due to the crash between exits 6 and 8. The two right lanes are closed.

Drivers in the area should expect delays and consider alternate routes while crews work to clear the scene.
