CHESHIRE, Conn. (WFSB) - Lauren Celentano, who grew up in Cheshire, will join the cast of Broadway’s Hamilton as an ensemble member and understudy for Peggy Schuyler and Mariah Reynolds.
Celentano will make her Hamilton debut on November 24. She said she has been singing Hamilton songs in her car for 10 years.
“I’m so excited,” Celentano said. “Hamilton is in its own league. Everybody knows Hamilton — even people who aren’t into theater.”
Celentano learned dance at Dance Unlimited in Hamden and performed at the Shubert stage in New Haven as a student at Sacred Heart Academy.
After winning a dance competition show in Italy, she returned to the United States and took a year to audition for shows.
