RAPIDES PARISH, La. — Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents cited a man for fishing violations last week in Rapides Parish.

57-year-old Jerald Tyler of Clifton, was cited for taking more than the legal limit of crappie and for fishing without a basic license on Thursday, Nov. 13.

According to LDWF, agents received a complaint about someone exceeding the limit at Kincaid Lake. When they arrived, they found Tyler fishing from the bank.

Agents said he had 102 crappie and no basic fishing license. The limit at Kincaid Lake is 50 crappie per day per licensed fisherman, officials said.

The fish were seized and donated to a local charity. Wildlife officials said taking over the limit carries a fine up to $350, and fishing without a basic license carries up to a $50 fine.
