After more than two decades as the director of the Arkansas Ethics Commission, Graham Sloan plans to retire on Dec. 31.
"It has been a particular pleasure working closely with members of the board and staff to accomplish the Ethics Commission's important mission," Sloan wrote in a Friday retirement letter to the five members of the Arkansas Ethics Commission. "Serving the citizens of the State of Arkansas has been not only rewarding, but also a great honor."
Jill Barham, a staff attorney for the commission, will serve as the interim director after Sloan's departure.
"It's my honor to serve in that position," Barham said in a phone interview, adding that it's going to be an "honor to continue the mission of the commission."
