U.S. Sen. Katie Britt , R-Ala., says she is not in favor of a clean extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies amid reporting from Punchbowl News that she is trying to get President Donald Trump to agree to a plan on the issue.

“Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) has spoken with the president several times this week to pitch the idea, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter,” the outlet reported.

Britt and other GOP senators, some with different views on the subject, were scheduled to meet with Trump on Thursday, but we’re told the meeting was canceled for unrelated reasons.”

But Britt clarified on X that she is not in support of a clean extension of the subsidies that are set to expire on Dec. 31.
