EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Some local residents are working to help hungry kids across the world.

Blue Grass Church and Feed My Starving Children are teaming up to fight malnutrition.

There’s no better time to teach children the importance of giving than over the holiday season.

These two groups have been holding these events since 2010 and have shipped more than one million meals to those in need.

This year they are holding events at Blue Grass Church and the Vanderburgh County 4H Fairgrounds and hope to pack a half million meals. That would feed 1,400 children around the world for a year. Food scientists work with Feed My Starving Children to create the formula for the meal packs. They are designed to last a long time, be easy to fix, and designed specifically for children.
