CHARLESTON, S.C. — Georgia basketball will get an early read on if their fast start this season will translate to wins away from home in the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic.
The Bulldogs are 5-0 with their pressing style turning over opponents and spotty 3-point shooting not dooming them in the win-loss column.
Georgia plays Xavier (3-2) on Friday night Nov. 21, hoping to continue to get points off steals and blocks.
“That’s a huge part of our offense, turning our defense into offense,” junior forward Dylan James said. “We’ve got a few different presses we run throughout the game.”
Georgia shot just 2 of 26 on 3s against Florida A&M, but forced 25 turnovers that it turned into 32 points in an 87-57 win on Thursday in Athens.
“I’ve got confidence in our guys to make shots,”
