CHEYENNE — Members of the Cheyenne City Council are considering a resolution that would allow the city treasurer to write off nearly $137,000 in uncollectible debts — an annual requirement that prompted questions at a Finance Committee meeting Tuesday about how aggressively the city pursues overdue payments.
The total amount in write-offs is $136,828.03, with $27,636.80 in uncollectible city accounts, $33,568.23 in Board of Public Utilities sanitation billings and $75,623 in unpaid parking tickets from 2021, according to the resolution’s supporting document .
