Kalamazoo Christian is back in the Division 3 volleyball state title game for the third time in four years after sweeping Saginaw Valley Lutheran in Friday’s semifinal 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.
Kalamazoo Christian will face Kingsley in Saturday’s state championship game.
Reagan Zuiderveen had 35 assists, dishing out 19 kills for Eliana VanDusen and 11 for Eliana Keller. Lily Manion had 18 digs. Ellory Zuiderveen had 15 digs.
Reagan Webb had 10 kills and eight digs for Valley Lutheran, while Braelin Rodammer had eight kills and five digs. Kate Belt had 21 assists. Hayden Sherman had 12 digs.
The Chargers took the first three points of the match, but Kalamazoo Christian stormed back and quickly had an 8-4 lead with Maya Gaertner contributing a pair of kills.
