BEAUREGARD PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A Sulphur woman died after a crash on La. 12 near DeQuincy, police said.

A 2020 Ram 1500 was driving east near Pete Gimnick Road Thursday evening when it turned left in front of a 2007 Nissan Xterra headed west, Roy Jones of Louisiana State Police Troop D said. The Xterra hit the right side of the truck.

Lillian Viator, 76, who was in the front passenger seat of the Ram, was seriously injured and later died in the hospital, Trooper Jones said. Both drivers were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Everyone was properly restrained, Jones said. Standard toxicology samples were collected from the drivers.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
