ROCKFORD, Mich. — The holiday season is officially underway in Rockford with the annual Holiday Lighting ceremony at Garden Club Park.
Rockford Mayor Tammy Bergstrom got in on the early holiday celebrations herself.
“We do [usually] have the ceremony on the first Friday in December," Bergstrom said. "So, we've got a couple extra weeks of lights this year, and I'm looking forward to it.”
The Rockford High School choir led the large crowd in Christmas carols, while some brought their animal friends to join in the festive celebrations.
Doug Bellah and his rottweiler Moe were there to help spread the holiday cheer.
“There's just something festive about it, right, getting around, petting the dog, and it just helps lighten the mood a little bit,” Bellah said.
