Roadwork ahead?
It's no secret that some of New Mexico's roads are pretty bumpy. In fact, one of the few things lawmakers on both sides of the aisle agree on is that we've fallen behind other states in terms of maintenance.
"Our roads are getting worse ... that's clear," said Transportation Cabinet Secretary Ricky Serna, with the agency in some cases patching roads where complete reconstruction is necessary.
"In some instances, we're buying a few years, but fundamentally, we don't have the resources to hit the areas that we need to hit most."
