Texas rains force unexpected landing, some slept in airport
Passengers on an American Airlines flight between Dallas and Midland, Texas, ended up making an unanticipated and lengthy stop between the two locations when their jet landed at the Roswell Air Center on Thursday, about three hours after leaving Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The twin-engine aircraft, an Embraer E175 jet, was diverted to Roswell because of thunderstorms, according to FlightAware, which tracks and reports on the status of flights.
Flight no. 3505, departed from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 11:40 a.m. Mountain Time and landed in Roswell just before 3 p.m., after being unable to land in Midland.
