Live! Casino Virginia donated approximately 248 turkeys Nov. 18 at The Hope Center in Petersburg, according to Scott Fisher, executive director of Downtown Churches United.

Fisher, as busy as can be, took a moment to share information about the food pantry at The Hope Center and the Turkey Giveaway event.

"We only serve the people of Petersburg. It's a Feed More system. We check IDs and log everyone into the computer. They can only come once every 28 days," Fisher said. "Turkey coupons were given to people who came in last week."

At the event, people with turkey coupons presented them to Live! Casino Virginia team members who were handing out Butterball turkeys from the back of a truck, parked in The Hope Center parking lot.
