With the winter months well and truly here and temperatures plummeting to below freezing an age old debate has reared its head once more - should you turn the heating off if you're going out for the day?

Most people would typically say yes, but as the price of heating our homes continues to skyrocket, it would seem costly and inefficient to keep the heating on when no one's at home.

But now a plumber has settled the argument on whether you should or you shouldn't. Plumbing expert David Doran from Blackstone Plumbing and Heating Ltd. has said if you're planning to be away or want to cut heating costs during winter, it's advisable not to turn the heating off entirely.
