A Woodbury man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a “sextortion” scheme that led to the production of child pornography.

On Thursday, Timothy Lennard Gebhart, 38, was sentenced to 360 months in prison followed by ten years of supervised release in U.S. District Court.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Gebhart ran a “sextortion” scheme targeting minor children from July 2021 to September 2023. As part of the scheme, Gebhart would use online platforms like Instagram and Snapchat to lure children as young as twelve years old.

Using aliases, Gebhart would pose as a teenager to befriend his victims before convincing them to send him sexually explicit videos and photos. He also sought out sexual encounters with his victims.
