A Wilbraham resident died Friday when fire swept his home, officials say.
While the evening fire at the 3 Delmor Ave. address was put out within half an hour, the homeowner was found unresponsive on the first floor, where the fire was burning most aggressively, according to a Saturday statement from the office of Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni.
The unidentified man was declared dead at the scene. A neighbor told arriving fire crews an adult was thought to be inside.
According to assessors’ records in Wilbraham, the 13,390-square-foot home is owned by Tyrone Osoimalo.
The Wilbraham Fire Department led the response after getting 9-1-1 calls reporting a fire at around 8:40 p.m. The department received help from Ludlow, Palmer, Westover, and Action Ambulance.
