TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - Trumbull County honored 15 families on Friday in recognition of National Adoption Day.

Officials say the day itself, and simply celebrating adoption is deeply important to all of those involved in the process.

"It brings public awareness to the need for adoption and it's also a celebration of love and hard work and passion so it's very important for the family, for the staff for the court because it's what we believe in," Executive Director of Trumbull County Children Services Marilyn Pape told 21 News.

Each family honored had adopted their children in the past year. The celebratory day meant even more to one family who finalized their adoption process that morning.
