A busy A-road in Devon was closed after a crash and a vehicle overturned this afternoon (Saturday, November 22).

The A383 was closed westbound near South Knighton and all traffic was reportedly being held.

There were delays between the Dartmoor Halfway Inn and the Wrigwell junction.

Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported the crash just before 3pm.

It said: "A383 Ashburton Road Westbound closed, stationary traffic due to accident, overturned vehicle involved from Wrigwell turn off (South Knighton) to Newhouse Hill (Bickington)."

The extent of the crash is not known at this time.
