Tributes have poured in from across the music world following the death of Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield, aged 63. The Crumpsall-born musician shot to fame after joining The Stone Roses in the 1980s.

Mounfield played on both of the band's albums and was a member of the Stone Roses until their split in 1996, before joining Primal Scream. In 2011, he announced his departure from Primal Scream to reform the Stone Roses.
