BELMONT, N.C. — A Belmont restaurant was evacuated Saturday afternoon after police received a bomb threat, but no explosive device was found.
Officers with the Belmont Police Department responded to Nellie's Southern Kitchen at 36 N Main St. around 2:20 p.m. Police quickly evacuated the establishment, secured the area and established a perimeter, according to a release from the police department.
The Gaston County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit assisted with the investigation.
After a thorough search, no suspicious packages or incendiary devices were found. The restaurant was reopened and no injuries were reported, police said.
BPD is investigating the incident and working to identify those responsible.
