MONTROSE, Pa. — A 39-year-old Susquehanna County man smashed the window of a tractor trailer stopped in a gas station parking lot earlier this week to try and rob the truck driver as he slept in his cab, state police said.
On Sunday, troopers at the Gibson station said they arrested David Smith, of New Milford, and charged him with attempted robbery, burglary, attempted theft, unlawful restraint and criminal mischief for allegedly carrying out the Nov. 9 caper.
The break-in happened right around 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Kwik Fill on Crossley Road in Montrose, state police said.
