Two individuals were transported to hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries

Calgary Fire Department crews responded to a two-alarm fire that took place late Saturday afternoon in the northeast community of Taradale.

After receiving reports of a structure fire in the 100 block of Taradale Close N.E., firefighters found smoke and flames coming from between two single-storey, single-family bungalows.

The volume of the fire and risk of it spreading to neighbouring properties prompted a second alarm, which brought additional resources to the scene.

During their initial search, crews located and removed two adults from the basement of one of the homes to Emergency Health Services.
