JACKSON — Radical Minds Academy co-founders Garrett Austen and Frances Saron created a school they would have liked to have attended when they were kids.

Both have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, and Austen said being able to work at their own pace, pause instructions or videos and be free of distractions in a public school classroom would have benefited them.

Students taking online and one-one-one courses at the recently launched Radical Minds Academy get this opportunity and also have extra support on the planning and organizing front.

“The school isn’t for everyone,” Austen said. “But I think there is a population of kids who are going to thrive here.”
