A young Scots girl has scaled the UK's highest mountain to raise money for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity . Faye Moffat set off in the darkness at 7am on Saturday with her dad, Craig, as part of her fundraising efforts.
The youngster, from Prestonpans near Edinburgh, helped carry all the overnight gear and climbed partway up Ben Nevis and set up camp before a final push to the summit. Despite the deep snow , icy slopes, and even a summit snowstorm, Faye powered through wearing her crampons and battling the ferocious Scottish winter winds.
She reached the top of the mountain at 3pm, before beginning the long descent back to their tent - much of it done in heavy rain and by headtorch. The round trip took the duo 10 hours.
