DETROIT – For roughly 57 minutes of regulation, the Detroit Lions appeared to be on the verge of Dan Campbell’s worst loss as head coach.

Coming into their Week 12 matchup at Ford Field as huge underdogs, the New York Giants took the fight to the Lions, jumping out to a 10-0 lead and scoring 20 points in the first half thanks to the arm — and hands — of Jameis Winston. Detroit appeared out of sync on both sides of the ball and headed toward a potentially season-altering loss.

However, after trailing 27-17 early in the fourth quarter, the Lions picked it up when it mattered most, scoring 17 unanswered points between the final period and overtime to secure a 34-27 comeback victory in a game the Lions arguably should have won handily.
