The Flagstaff Police Department and The Guidance Center partnered to host a 40-hour class on Crisis Intervention and Response Training (CIT) earlier this month, with a focus on supporting individuals experiencing mental or behavioral health crises.
“This training emphasizes empathy, de-escalation, and strong cross-agency collaboration,” the police department stated in a press release on Nov. 19. “Through presentations, group discussions, and hands-on scenario-based learning, participants strengthened their understanding of mental health, trauma, and how to connect individuals with the right resources in times of need.” Copy article link Sign up for our newsletters
