Emmerdale's Lewis Barton star admitted that he's "grateful" for the support as the ITV soap delves into the realities of being autistic.

Earlier this year, actor Bradley Riches stepped into the Dales as he made his Emmerdale debut. He was introduced as Lewis Barton , the secret son of Emma Barton.

Viewers will recall that Emma was pushed to her death by Moira Dingle, but it was Adam Barton who chose to take the blame and has been on the run ever since.

During his time in the Dales, Lewis has developed a close relationship with half-brother Ross Barton, and is currently living with him and Vinny Dingle at Dale View.

His friendship with Nicola King has also blossomed since he was welcomed at the cafe, with heartwarming scenes surrounding Lewis' autism.
