A New Bedford drop-in center for young adults is expanding its reach and hours after winning key contract changes from the state Department of Mental Health.
Child & Family Services’ Beyond House Young Adult Access Center can now serve individuals up to their 26th birthday, up from the previous limit of 22, according to a community announcement. The center also has extended its hours and expanded its service area to include all of southeastern Massachusetts.
The changes are part of a new contract with the Department of Mental Health.
The center, which serves young adults ages 16 to 25, is now open an extra hour every Thursday, until 7 p.m. The extension is intended to support additional groups and activities.
