A man who was deliberately run over by a complete stranger following a late-night road-rage incident was "left for dead" in the street.
Christopher Steele tried to force the victim off the road minutes after following the man in his car before driving over his prone body.
Teesside Crown Court heard how the man suffered fractured ribs, a lacerated liver and facial injuries after he was "spat out" of the rear of Steele’s car after he deliberately drove over his body.
The reason for the 36-year-old’s behaviour was never fully explained in court as a judge branded him a "coward" for driving away from the scene.
