COLUMBIA, S.C. ( WIS /Gray News) – A man in South Carolina is facing charges after police said he entered a mosque armed with a rifle.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 29-year-old Adam White turned himself in Thursday. He was charged with disturbance of a place of worship, aggravated breach of peace and two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm.
According to the sheriff’s department, White went into the mosque on Nov. 9 carrying an AR-15 rifle and disturbing worship.
Authorities also said surveillance video from the mosque showed White talked to some children who were there at the time and showed them the gun.
The situation involving White was not reported until Nov. 14, according to the sheriff’s department.
Officials said an effort was made to find White on Nov.
