GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — This holiday weekend, many Americans will pile into the car to go pick out a Christmas tree together.
But how to choose a tree? Rachel Wandrei, Minnesota Grown marketing manager, visited KARE 11 News at Noon on Monday to share tips for shopping local this season.
The Minnesota Grown website offers lookup tools to find local Christmas trees, wine, maple syrup and winter farmers markets. You can sort by distance and location.
Wandrei advised tree shoppers to consider whether they want long or short needles on their tree, and how long they want the tree to last.
To make your tree last as long as possible, give the tree plenty of warm water in the stand, especially right after you bring it home. Wandrei said to check the water level daily to make sure the water is
