HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police have arrested a second suspect in the Oct. 10 homicide near Fern Avenue and Kent Street, who is also accused in a string of armed robberies, police said.
Renard D. Hagood, 28, of High Point, faces first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges in the Oct. 10 shooting. He is the second suspect arrested in the case.
Police previously arrested 28-year-old Kahlil Barrier last month on the same charges. Investigators said the suspects and victims knew each other and the shooting was not random.
The gunfire killed 35-year-old Quadarius Hill of Greensboro. Hill and another victim drove to Willard Avenue after the shooting; Hill later died at a hospital. The surviving victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
