BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A deer was rescued from a pond Monday, November 24, according to Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters were alerted by a Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control deputy of a deer stuck in a water retention pond near the Roanoke Cement plant.
Crews corralled the uninjured deer into a corner of the pond and assisted with removal with a lasso, according to firefighters.
The deer was led to the edge of the property and released outside of the area, according to firefighters.
She is expected to make a full recovery, according to firefighters.
