RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - Radford City Public School leaders say safety is the number-one priority at all schools, and now they’re adding an extra set of eyes on all school buses to make sure that safety awareness reaches everyone on the roads.
All buses in the RCPS fleet are newly equipped with stop-arm cameras.
“Our goal with it is to just inform the community, make them more aware of us,” said Gracie Duncan, a bus driver for RCPS. “We’ve got all the lights. We’ve got all of the crossing arms. And all this, it’s just one more tool in the toolbox to be able to ensure the safety of these kids every day because that’s what we’re ultimately working toward.”
