SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) - State representatives from around our hometowns gathered Monday at the Salem Civic Center for the 35th annual Pre-Session Legislative Meeting and Lunch.
During the event, delegates and state senators met with business leaders to discuss key issues facing the region and January’s upcoming legislative session.
Some of those issues include housing, energy costs, data centers, and gambling.
“I think Regionalism is so important for our part of the state. We have a lot of needs and they’re similar across a lot of jurisdictions, so anytime we can get together with business leaders from across the region and also many of my colleagues that will be joining me here today, I think it’s a good thing,” said 48th District Delegate Eric Phillips, a Republican who represents part of
