RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - Money makes the world go round, and for Radford City Schools, the world nearly stopped spinning as they waited three months for funding from the city to hit their account.

WDBJ7 spoke with City Manager Todd Meredith who said he had an agreement with Superintendent Adam Joyce stating they would receive that payment before December.

Joyce responded to those claims.

“Our agreement has been for years that we would get our funding allocated monthly, and that hadn’t happened this fiscal year. So until last week, we hadn’t been funded since June 30,” Adam Joyce said. “So we were a little bit worried about our monthly installments that weren’t coming.”

The 1.4 million the district received covered the first quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, which ended in September. Joyce
