MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - A new tribute to Moline’s history and industry is now on display along the Mississippi River.
City leaders unveiled some new riverfront signage paying tribute to a man tied to Moline’s early growth.
The signage is located along the great river trail near the John Deere Pavilion and Vibrant Arena.
The tribute honors David Sears who in 1837 built the first dam on the Mississippi River. That addition helped to spur Moline’s early growth.
Preservationists hope the project can save Sear’s legacy from being lost to history.
