A schoolboy has died after falling unwell on a bus in Fife. The tragedy unfolded when the pupil from Beath High School was travelling to nearby Fife College to attend a course yesterday afternoon.
A 15-year-old boy took unwell on the bus near Halbeath roundabout in Dunfermline at around 1:45pm. An ambulance was called but the student was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland are treating the death as 'unexplained' and said their enquiries are ongoing. In a letter sent to parents, the school said the "situation deteriorated rapidly".
It stated that the school community will come together to "pay tribute and remember the young person".
