TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A protest in Mexico is keeping products from getting to shoppers in the U.S. ahead of the holiday weekend.
Mexican truckers and farmers have teamed up to stop semitrucks from passing through as they ask for safer road conditions, higher prices for their products, and many other demands from the Mexican government.
Multiple ports of entry have been impacted by the protest including the Nogales Port of Entry where Chamberlain Distributing has their trucks pass through to get their fresh produce.
“It’s always been a hectic week,” Chamberlain Distributing President Jaime Chamberlain said in reference to the holiday week. “You add this into it, and I’ll tell you what it’s made for a very very busy Monday morning.”
