Residents in Southall are being evacuated from their homes and several schools have sent pupils home early after a huge warehouse fire erupted in London this morning. ‌

Ealing Council has warned of disruption for at least the next eight hours. Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines rushed to the scene after the London Fire Brigade (LFB) was first called at 8:55am. ‌

Crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and surrounding stations are battling the blaze, which has torn through a two-storey warehouse and adjoining retail space. The building is now described as fully alight both internally and externally. ‌

Thick plumes of black smoke are billowing across West London and can be seen for miles, prompting urgent advice for residents to stay indoors and keep doors and windows shut.
