An Anchorage woman accused of “losing her cool” and fatally shooting her ex-girlfriend in a west Fairbanks apartment was arrested Saturday.
Brooklyn Michelle Whitman, 27, faces charges of felony first-degree murder and felony second-degree weapons misconduct in connection with the death of 34-year-old Ashlee Spann. Magistrate Judge Spenser Ruppert set Whitman’s bail at $2 million.
According to court documents, Spann asked a friend to buy her a bottle of Tito’s vodka and bring it to her Vassar Circle apartment Friday night. During the two hours the friend visited Spann, Whitman reportedly called and texted Spann over 20 times, threatening to kill her and whoever was at the apartment with her, the complaint stated.
