In early November, the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly reorganized for the 2025-2026 year, with Assemblymember Scott Crass selected as presiding officer without protest. The Assembly approved Liz Reeves as the deputy presiding officer, also without protest.
Crass re-organized Assembly committee assignments, a role traditionally held by the Assembly and filling in a few roles left vacant with the departure of former members Barbara Haney, who lost a re-election bid, and Mindy O’Neall, who termed out after six years.
The two key internal committees — Finance and Committee of the Whole — will see some new shifts in its makeup. All nine Assemblymembers have a vote on the standing committees.
