A Fairbanks man wanted for alleged kidnapping and torture was arrested Saturday morning after a month-long manhunt. Four additional people face criminal charges for hindering the investigation and tampering with evidence.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Jonathan Rhyan Critchfield and 40-year-old Edwin Eugene Hanson were charged Oct. 24 with felony kidnapping, felony second-degree assault, and three counts of felony third-degree assault after allegedly kidnapping a man and torturing him.

A man asked Critchfield and Hanson for a ride on Oct. 23. When Critchfield and Hanson reportedly questioned the man about some stolen property, the man asserted that he did not steal anything. When he tried to open the door of a moving vehicle, Hanson pulled out a handgun.
