A woman has been left critically injured after an attacker is believed to have doused her with petrol and set her alight.
The suspected arson attack happened at the foot of a property in Clondalkin, Dublin, this morning at approximately 10:10am. Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident, with officers suspecting the use of a petrol bomb.
Gardai said a woman had been taken to hospital to be treated for burn injuries which are believed to be serious, while a man is also in hospital being treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
In a statement, the force added: "The scene has been preserved for technical examination. A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established In Clondalkin Garda Station.
