New twists have emerged in the case of the missing and undefeated Virginia football coach, who is now wanted by authorities.
Travis Lee Turner, 46, the head football coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, was first reported missing on Thursday, Nov. 20 by Virginia State Police, out of Wise County, where his team has rolled to a 12-0 record under its interim coach.
His disappearance sent shockwaves through the community when Virginia State Police troopers couldn't find him at home in connection with an unrelated investigation.
While his vanishing act has drawn public attention, Turner was reportedly placed on administrative leave, as the case continues, making national headlines.
Now, the story is getting a new wave of attention for the wrong reasons.
According to multiple reports, including CNN and WCYB 5 (NBC) on Tuesday, Nov. 25, Turner is wanted for child pornography possession and other related charges. Both cases remain under investigation.
Turner was described by state police as being 6-foot-3, weighing around 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants, and glasses. His whereabouts remain unknown as troopers and investigators continue their search with an assist from drones, K9, and other specialty units.
Virginia State Police are asking anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Turner to contact Virginia State Police Division 4 at 276-484-9483 or email questions@vsp.virginia.gov.
