Police in Connecticut said they were able to find the victim of an assault by following a blood trail leading to his house.

Police said they received a call on Sunday, Nov. 23, at about 9:15 p.m. about a serious assault around 100 Hillcrest Road in East Lyme. When officers arrived, they found a "substantial" amount of evidence to support that claim, including the blood trail.

The 41-year-old victim told officers he had been thrown from a moving vehicle by two people, according to East Lyme police.

Authorities have not said how the man ended up in the vehicle or whether he knew his attackers.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the East Lyme Police Department at 860-739-5900.
