A driver who left hundreds of people 'in a state of panic' when he rammed his car into pedestrians has been locked up.

'Impulsive' Gurwinder Singh drove his white VW Tiguan into a crowd at a private party, injuring six people.

The 28-year-old then callously fled the scene before later handing himself into police.

The incident took place in De Montfort Street, Leicester, just before 12.35am on Saturday May 31.
